 Dr Chong Chee Chung is the Senior ITS Architect from ST Engineering. The past decades have witnessed the dramatic impact of new innovations and technologies on the ways we live our day-to-day lives. Likewise, the advancement of Advanced Traffic Management has, and will continue to be radically shaped by these developments. In this presentation, Dr Chong will explore and discuss how such emerging innovations and technologies will impact the various aspects of the Advanced Traffic Management ecosystem, including the way traffic information is being collected,  enhancement and automation in the decision making process, and how improvement in service delivery benefits road users.

Dr Dario Menichetti, Regional Director, Technical Pre-Sales & Professional Services of PTV GROUP will share how efficient traffic management can be more than steering traffic away from incidents after an accident has occurred or closing lanes due to construction works. Instead, he believed that it is about having a response plan ready before it is even needed. Thanks to the latest software technologies in combination with advancements in connectivity, communication, data availability and computing power, traffic operators can now rely on high-quality data, accurate forecasts based on machine learning techniques and sophisticated model-based simulations that allow for real-time scenarios evaluations that are necessary to respond fast and in an effective manner to unusual network conditions such as accidents, special events or a pandemic. In this presentation, Dr Menichetti will explore the methods, technologies and use cases to take traffic management to the next level.
