January 28, 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
We have concluded this event.
You are invited to ITS Singapore’s industry webinar series – Urban Mobility From Edge to Cloud on 28 January 2021, SGT 4pm to 5pm.
In this first webinar series for the year, we have invited notable speakers from Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Cubic Transportation Platforms for a panel discussion on how urban mobility is transforming due to technological innovation and shifting social trends. To be moderated by the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore’s Chief Information Officer Mr Goh Siow Chong, the session will tap on Mr Goh’s experience in implementing technological solutions to create fireside discussions. Siow Chong is also a Councilor of ITS Singapore.
About the Speakers:
Dr. Eng Lim Goh is senior vice president and chief technology officer for artificial intelligence at HPE. Prior to this, he was CTO for the majority of his 27 years at Silicon Graphics, now an HPE company. As principal investigator of the experiment aboard the International Space Station to operate autonomous supercomputers on long duration space travel, Dr. Goh was awarded NASA’s Exceptional Technology Achievement Medal. In addition to co-inventing blockchain-based swarm learning applications, he oversees deployment of artificial intelligence to Formula 1 racing, works on industrial application of technologies behind a champion poker bot, co-designed the systems architecture for simulating a biologically detailed mammalian brain, and leads a team on machine learning and analytics of high-dimensional gene expression data from vaccine clinical trial. He has been granted nine U.S. patents, with four others pending.
Mick Spiers has a vision of a world where people can move freely around cities; without traffic; without congestion; and ultimately without stress. He believes in freedom of choice. The freedom to choose your preferred mode (or modes) of transportation and to use your preferred method of payment to pay for those services. Mick advocates that transportation needs to be equitable and accessible to everyone – the banked and the unbanked; technophiles and technophobes; the young and the elderly; the rich and the poor and everyone in between.
Mick is the Vice President and General Manager of Cubic Transportation Platforms (the home of Umo) at Cubic Transportation Systems. He and his team are providing platform-based technology that brings innovative mobility solutions to transport operators and agencies of all sizes from a small family-owned bus company to a large complex city.
